Same problem here, any help?
I solved uninstalling DMRAID from Synaptic. I started a Live CD.
A capture from Gparted, which detects all my partitions

Hi
I'm trying to install Ubuntu 10.10 in a desktop computer with three disks. SDA with NTFS in SDA1, where I have Windows XP, SDB where I had Ubuntu 10.04, and SDC where I have an NTFS partition....
Hello?
Any other suggestion?
Hi
I have upgraded to 9.10 in a netbook ACER ASPIRE ONE, but the desktop now is damaged and I would like to change it to classic one. The problem is I can't find the icon to do it because, as I...
Yes, all drives are Sata except DVD.
The strange is that It works in 9.04. There is something new in 9.10 that changed grub or something.
Yes, the Live CD works, but it does not detect all the disks.
Any help, please?
It's strange, also, that Ubuntu 9.10 does not detect my 4 disks, but 9.04 does it. Could anyone explain me what I'm doing wrong?
Hi
I'm tired of trying to install 9.10. I don't understand what's the problem. First, I was not able to upgrade from 9.04:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1307780
Of course it was not...
It does not work for me, but thanks anyway
Is there anybody out there?
Unplugging HD's does not work.
I have done this:
root@ubuntu:/# sudo update-grub
sudo: unable to resolve host ubuntu
Searching for GRUB installation directory ... found: /boot/grub
findfs:...
It says "Error 15 File Not Found"
Before unplugging HD, I have checked the menu.lst
# menu.lst - See: grub(8), info grub, update-grub(8)
# grub-install(8), grub-floppy(8),
# grub-md5-crypt,...
I'll try it, but if I can't use 4 HD is not a solution...
Thanks for the help, Ill tell you if solve the boot ptoblem.
I assume that nobody knows how to solve this...
Really, is not there any way to solve the problem without a clean install?
Sure a clean install solve the problem, but I need to access the disk and I don't know how to do it. When I start from live, I don't know how to mount the HD
EDIT: Well, I can access to the HD...
I suppose that the problem is that system does not start from hd ( I have 4 hd), but I don't know how to solve it. For any reason, upgrade changed boot disk.
I have the same problem here. I upgraded from 9.04, after rebooting, appears that message and, of course, does not boot again.
Any help?
I think in Windows Release you could change resolution adding a line in ini file: directdraw=0 (or 1, not sure). Something like this:
[PREFERENCES]
directdraw=1
But I don't know in Linux.
