With 1.4 onwards right click on the tabs to select which ones to hide/show. There's an old version in the repos 1.2 or something, you can get newer versions from getdeb.
I like both as well. I use Deluge on my desktop and Transmission on my laptop. I think Transmission was the right choice for Hardy default, power users can easily switch to Deluge if they want to.

Ok, so it now processes all the covers, but the progress bar seems to be broken now and also it names them all 1 (--name 1) instead of 1,2,3,... Again works fine on the command line.

Read through this article, from reading that it seems to me that Krita really isn't any better at all.
I just marked everything Gimp related for removal and it said it would free up 42.7mb, then marked Krita for installation and it said it would take up 134mb of space.
1) Kdelibs would need to be on the cd and as far as I know space is already tight on the cd.
2) If you start adding in Kde apps you lose the consistent look and feel of the desktop.
3) Gimp is fine...

The backports repo also has 0.7.1. You can enable that through synaptic -> settings -> repositories -> updates -> check unsupported updates.
