    Re: Synaptic Is Going Bye Bye Soon

    Synaptic is not apt-get; I'll admit I don't know for sure, but I find it very unlikely they'll scrap apt-get. Besides, doesn't USC *depend* on APT?

    Re: Synaptic Is Going Bye Bye Soon

    Well god, sorry! I ask because I don't know! That's all!

    ...Can't we all be civil? I don't appreciate the hostile responses I've received from one, admittedly to-lazy-to-check-for-other-threads...

    Re: Synaptic Is Going Bye Bye Soon

    I'll admit I'm not sure what you mean; to elaborate I find the asthetic improvements and the codec offers to be an improvement.

    Did something break badly with the new installer? I'm willing to...

    What bothers you about the new installer? I find it to be a big improvement over the old installers, but that's just me.

    I was fond of the brown too, but the Lucid default theme was the first default theme I actually kept around for a while.

    I think the new Maverick default will be one of the most professional...

    Sarcasm or no? I try not to be a jerk, but sometimes I tend to be anyway ^^;

    Personally, I've heard way too many times in this thread about the idea that apt-get will be taken away. I simply...

    apt-get is still there. And for god's sake, or if that doesn't jibe with some here, for the sake of science, IT'S NOT GOING AWAY.

    Re: Synaptic Is Going Bye Bye Soon

    Ahh... Doesn't Ubuntu offer the same thing as the 'ttf-mscorefonts' (also part of ubuntu-restricted-extras) package? If so, then even though you aren't getting a EULA popup, you're consenting to it...

    Interesting... I knew Novell had signed a deal with MS, but I was not aware of this. What caused the EULA to pop up? A preinstalled program, or something you installed after?
