[ubuntu] Re: Remove bottom panel with command line

Well you need to have some knowledge of gconf-editor or gconftool.
For command line you may use the gconftool.
First of all use the "-g" attribute to get the list of your current panels:

[ubuntu] Re: Server v Desktop version

You probably need the Desktop edition. Considering you are a Windows user and had been using the GUI all the time, Desktop edition is also easier to use for you.

    [ubuntu] Re: /etc/sudoers file

If vi(m) is difficult for you to use, you can use

    sudoedit /etc/sudoers

It uses the default editor which I believed is set to nano by default which is easier to use than vi(m) for beginers.

Re: Set SUID to a directory doesn't work.

Set SUID to a directory doesn't work.

I don't know why it goes wrong.
I did gave 777 permission to a directory.

    user1@host:~$ mkdir public
    user1@host:~$ chmod 777 public
Then I added SUID bit to the directory permission.
