When logging on, it kicks me back to main screen.

Is this the right sequence?

Open terminal, insert script as defined in step one.
This opens another window, a text editor. Enter script as defined in step 2....

New user here, about thirty minutes into Ubuntu...
I have same question--in step 2, what did you save as? Or, did you just close the tab?
I have not been successful with this workaround, yet....
