The database server has to be running as a service in Adaptive Server, otherwise, if it's running as an application it doesn't work.

Or you can wait for it to load, depending in the system it could take a while to get the live...

Which loading screen? Can you get the wizard going at all?
If you can boot to a live cd, try to check what gparted shows.

Are you familiar with gparted? Looks like you may have interrupted the format process of the drive, or it crashed for some reason, and it seems this is causing the...
Could be a bad download or faulty drive or memory.
Which player is it? Has it worked before? Does it work with other media players?
