Same problem here, I had a perfect & healthy Ubuntu 10.04 install in my netbook, added lubuntu-desktop for fun, and two weeks later upgraded to 11.04... and got the SAME error you have.

I really have no clue whats going on with my Ubuntu Session after the upgrade, my Lubuntu on the other hand works great.
