I have GTX 1050 (proprietary driver) and Ubuntu 16.04.3
I have set screens to separate x screen in nvidia settings GUI.
I need to run this command to (possibly) get my separate x screen to work...
So this is my setup:
-Ubuntu Mate 16.04.3 (Fresh install)
-Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1050
-Nvidia proprietary driver: 384.111 (exactly same problem with newer drivers)
-Kernel: 4.13.0-32-generic...
I found the solution to run /etc/rc.local when resuming from suspend. It is here --> https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2377764
As I said, I destroyed the notes.
While seeking similar solution I had, it seems I got this to work. Here is the solution:
I found this one -->...
I need /etc/rc.local to run (as root) when resuming (waking up) from suspend. At this time it opens gnome-calculator, for letting me know when it has been executed.
I have tried every guide I...
It seemed the last one helped, but it does not work after 10 suspend/resume-cycles. (So I am back at the starting point)
I really want to run /etc/rc.local automatically when resuming from...
I am 100% sure this will not work, since rc.local is not executed at any point. And I need it to run when coming back from suspend.
Can you tell me how to run /etc/rc.local when waking from...
According to this --> https://mariogalan.com/en/content/execute-script-after-suspend-ubuntu-1604
I should make a script that runs rc.local when waking from suspend. It does not say how to make it to...
I know how to run /etc/rc.local manually, but how do I get it to run when my computer wakes up from suspend? That is when the problem occurs
Now that I have repeater disconnected and did what you told, still wireless does not start. In fact now running /etc/rc.local manually nothing happens to the wireless (but calculator starts in 10...
I will. But I have no way to run that rc.local automatically (waking up from suspend)
I disconnected the repeater and when I get this to work, I will later reconfig that and give that different...
Here you go. Fresh boot with USB-wifi stick inserted:
########## wireless info START ##########

Booted last: 14 Nov 2017 00:00 EET +0200
lspci -nnk | grep -iA2 0280
says nothing
For the record, this is not a laptop, and there is no internal wifi-card either. (I posted in the original post mistakenly that this is a card, I meant...
Googled around and found this:
inxi -Nn
gives me:
Network: Card-1: NVIDIA MCP77 Ethernet driver: forcedeth
IF: enp0s10 state: down mac: 00:25:22:74:dc:3b
Card-2:...
echo mt7601u | sudo tee -a /etc/modules
tells me:
mt7601u
lspci -nnk | awk 'c&&!--c;/0280/{c=2}'
displays nothing
should it NOT be lspci, since this is USB?
I try to make this short as possible.
USB Stick is: 148f:7601 Ralink Technology, Corp. MT7601U Wireless Adapter
I have this problem that I loose wifi --> 1 time out of every 6 suspend-wake...
Thanks guys, I will figure something out of these posts, and combine ideas ):P
Nice idea, thinking outside of the box there, I like! :D
Ok, I tested out, and when I crypt the whole drive, it actually asks the password way before booting anything. Well, this was expected, and logical.
If I tick the option to encrypt my home folder,...
Ok ;)
Not running any website.
IS there files that will run after mounting, that are vital? I am now installing the OS again, because I messed it up somehow yesterday, and I will encrypt the...
I can not enter bios password since it is headless (has no monitor and no keyboard). I can put monitor , mouse and keyboard there for installing purposes, but will not keep them there all the time.

Ubuntu 14.04 32 bit.
I would like to secure my computer, so if it gets stolen, the operating system will not start up.
One way is to install thumb-drive (or NAS) and move one key file there,...
I think I can not, since I am not the original poster?
I solved it! \\:D/
I am going to use XXXX (and blurr) for every name that most likely will not be the same with your setup
Firstly configure at least one VPN connection, that you will use.
