I absolutely hate the auto maximise function. Hopefully, Ubuntu didn't incorporate that "feature" to stay up with Windows, I hate it there also.

I cant explain why it does, but I got this to work. Here's how I did it:
Plug in USB flash drive
Launch palmiset, USB drive should be visible
Format the drive to NTFS
Use "Safe Removal"...
Once I figured out that Gparted needs to be run from a live CD (duh!) it was almost a no brainer. You do need to be familiar with Gparted:
1) Install new HD
2) Boot from Gparted Live CD -...
I dont claim to be an expert but I have had success running XP in Virtual Box and installing Office there, might be worth a try. I am not sure of your VBA requirements however.

1) Install the new HD, power up and use gparted to partition it.
2) restore the data to the new HD
3) edit /etc/ftab...
