    Same problem.
    I have tested all the indexing programs around, and the only ones that do the work are Google Desktop and Beagle.

    Tracker was an I/O monger, the gui is still behind and its results...

    The module, hdaps, is now part of the kernel.

    However, you have to install the userspace daemon :
    $ aptitude install hdapsd

    And that's it. Sensivity can be adjusted in /etc/default/hdapsd.
