I should have qualified what I meant by good. I most certainly hate seeing Linux on bargain basement equipment, I would love to see it on mid-range affordable systems, especially a Core Duo laptop.
According to this eweek article Novell is talking to OEMs about bundling it's desktop software with new PCs.

Thanks very much for this howto leech. I can confirm it works under Dapper. I just searched for anything on OpenRPG, glad to see some others using it. Until I found this I had been painfully using...
If it's any consolation I miss those games too. X-Wing Alliance was the last great game from LA in the spirit of those classics. Seems all they are churning out now is half baked FPS and platformers,...
The 2 things I said I absolutely needed were I to try Opera and there they are.
CTL-Enter to complete URLs and CTL-T for tab, nice one.
Novell out of left field throws in an OpenGL compositor and opens it up.

Looks like Novell was making good use of that XGL code it was sitting on.
Infact, we might see...
You are in a growing group of "end users" just discovering Ubuntu and you can have the great pride of being an early adopter. Many of us techie folks are trying to spread Ubuntu to friends and family...
I burn data CDs songs and podcasts in mp3, my cars head unit supports mp3 so I have no need for anything else. Basically, since I am on the road all day this serves me best.
That's pretty much a good way to describe it.
Looks like we are not forgotten, just on schedule with the next major release.
Hopefully Macrodobe doesn't make us the point release stepchild....
Personally, I never had spyware on any of my machines. But I have been using Mozilla and Firefox (Firebird, Pheonix) for my main browser for ages. At work, I see and remove spyware on almost a daily...
Also, have a look at ClamWin AV. It's not bad as a stand alone scanner and works well. There are also more free AV programs such as Avast and AntiVir, which also do a good job.
Doesn't look like Eric Raymond wants to let go this week either lol.
Very nice, thank you for the great work...darjeeling for me :D
A rather nice looking logo, very nice indeed. I would like to think for the aims of ubuntu women perhaps a blog would be best but also tied in with the other things; I will endeavor to explain....
I got the same thing the other night as well.
Found a review of the z71v here.

I want all of them...(wipes drool from chin). Even though I prefer AMD personally the ASUS Z71V would probably be the most comaptible under ubuntu as ATI's drivers are not that great. My ideal laptop...
Here's a really good deal I would jump on had I need for yet another system.

I higly recommend the D-Link Gaming Router DGL-4300, it comes with Gigabit Ethernet ports and has a ton of features. It doesn't run Linux but if it's good routing and the ability to use a QoS like...
Yes it works as a normal USB keyboard. Not sure about using 2 keyboards at once, I think they would act as the same keyboard unless there is some way to map the 2nd differently.
Well I prefer the plain keyboard look but...I also like this Keyboard from Logitech,
The G15 Gamer Keyboard.

I highly recommend the Saitek Eclipse line of Keyboards..backlit, great key response and the volume buttons work by default in Breezy.
