You have a few different problems in your post.

1) Installs do not work.

2) You can not install SAMBA.

This is usually handled in your router or Internet gateway device. It needs to be set on a place when you can actually create DNS entries, not just proxy them.

You never said how you are connecting. scp? cifs? nfs? One test is try to connect in a different way and see if you still have the same issue.
