lol nvm it works. :D
I followed the tutorial here,
http://sudan.ubuntuforums.com/showthread.php?p=5601862#post5601862
And whenever I try the last command:
cat /var/log/syslog
I get this:
Aug 16 09:28:12...
I recently installed Kubuntu on my Compaq SR1920NX and I've noticed that the resolution was stuck at 800x600 it can go higher upto 400x300 or something like that. But it wont go to 1024x768. I know...
I tried installing using this guide, everything went flawlessly, till the last part.. for the output I get:
Aug 16 09:28:12 recklezz-desktop kernel: [ 12.422090] Memory: 1480556k/1506240k...
thank you for the links! :) but what is the Linux downloader for?
oooo! okay! :D thank you! ill be waiting patiently for that list. =]
Are there any good graphic games like the whole Starcraft & Warcraft: Frozen Throne type of games? Like Glest for example. Are there any other games like that for Ubuntu/Kubuntu?
Thank you.
I am able to write and transfer files to it. :)
Thanks again! +Thanks to both of you. :)
this fixed it:
sudo mount -t ntfs-3g /dev/sdb1 /home/recklezz/Desktop/mybook -o force
Thank you sooo much!!! :) I really appreciate your help alot! :)
i tried adding it without the space, and i still get permissions denied. =[
this is what came up:
Failed to mount '/dev/sdb1': Operation not supported
Mount is denied because NTFS is marked to be in use. Choose one action:
Choice 1: If you have Windows then disconnect...
thats is correct. and when i did that, i got:
mount: can't find /dev/sdb1 in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab
Disk /dev/sda: 60.0 GB, 60011642880 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 7296 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
Disk identifier: 0x94e494e4
Device Boot Start ...
i did as was told. and this is what came up:
mount: can't find dev/sdb1 in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab
I connected my MyBook just now, and when I try to access it, it says permission denied.
Before I had this error, it would say that I had to add:
/dev/sdb1 /media/My Book ntfs-3g force 0 0...
i actually have not, but i am afraid to, because what if it doesnt work? =[
i have, but the only thing i have found out about is the older versions of ubuntu.
