Today I just bought a Nano 16gb black, unlike the Touch and Classic it's flash based so I can take it jogging, atm it's just charging up so not had chance to see what Ubuntu makes of it.

You could use Themepark 3 ans 4 to changes most of the visual art files (panel, windows deco. but TP has a learning curve and can take some time to master.

I once watched a ch5news slot on secondlife and was left feeling it was for pervs and peados so left it at that.
Probably have to resize the image to the size you want and upload it again, adding the new image location to your original full size upload link so it replaces the small thumb.
RS is not going to get you fluent in a language, for that one needs more advanced products like Linguaphone and Pimsleur that go into total immersion.
I see RS as a starting "step up" ;) enjoyable...
