This sounds about right, from what I've read. Fortuneately, I can do this pretty easily, I just did not want to. I will mark this thread as solved, but if anyone wants to, then can suggest another...
I have an older debian system on my computer, and it cannot mount ext4, since it does not have support. It says it is an unknown filesystem, and when I try to mount it as ext3, it says it is the...
bump, exact same issue, using hardy.
Hey man, bump! I'd like to see this fixed.
i did secure it, thank you though.
makes sense, but if she were to connect to my network, would I see her PC is no files were shared?
Recently, I entered my Belkin router's config pages and saw that there was a computer named "wendystoy" as a DHCP client which I have never seen before. The point of this thread is to find out how to...
I more or less gave up and had a more experienced friend put ubuntu eee on a usb drive. Very nice OS.
Sorry I've not been keeping you posted...I nearly forgot I posted this!:)
I'm in the process now...
bump
This is fairly straightforward. I am running an eee pc w/o a cd drive, and w/o an external one. How do i burn a .iso to an sd card? Windows or linux software will do fine.
Sadly, it was that simple. I really hoping for something complicated, but sadly, no. Maybe I should try Gentoo. :)
Thank you again.
Sadly, both were as you suggested. Thank for answering anyway.
I used Ubuntu (GNOME) to install my system, but I decided to go ahead and install KDE alongside it. I can use it, but I encountered a problem when I rebooted into kdm, instead of gdm, which I used to...
Excellent!
I got the icons to the right of the window, and NullHead's simple code fixed it!
For the record, I used a dist-upgrade from hardy.
Do you have backup-manager ?
I don't.
I used the autoclean command, and all I see is the .debs i'm currently using, all of the responses make sense: thank you!
this will remove all of the debs from your local apt cache.
won't they just be reloaded...or not?
Please supply more information; everyone on Ubuntu has some .debs on their hard drive. Are...
There 2,393 .deb files that take up 1.8 GB(!) of my hard drive, what's the deal? If this is normal, is there any way around it?
I've finally decided on my views, and I would say End-User (easy to use) based distros would be the best place for desktop linux to go to. We already have 70% of servers!
It appears wine doors is just a "package" manager for wine, which we all know is not an emulator, anything else?
I do like virtualbox, and have used for awhile, but it currently does not have working kernel modules for the intrepid developement branch.
iTunes...I know 'bout Amarok, Rhythmbox, etc.
I am curious as to the existence of a program-by-program emulator for windows apps. Since wine doesn't work, and qemu is too slow, I was curious as to the existence of a middle ground.
I'm just goin' with GNOME-------> but with Ubuntu 8.10 alpha 4!
I love the signature!
