Hey guys
I've been playing around with my Amarok script again. I now wrote 2, one for Amarok 1.4 and another for Amarok 2. I also have a new Amarok cover script which works with both 1.4 and 2...
Very nice, as usual
Just a quick change you can add to the cover script. You probably noticed that when the original cover art is not exactly square then the end result doesn't look...
To get album art from local files is really rather dependent on the player that you use and if it provides metadata when queried using dcop or qdbus. I posted a couple of scripts in this thread for...
Try wireless_link_qual_perc or wireless_link_qual instead if you want the signal strength. I don't think linkstatus is a variable that conky recognises.
I'm keeping it simple for a change:
awn with lucido style
3 conky scripts
The audio visualizer is wlourf's http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=8861782&postcount=175. I combined it with the album art pulled from Amarok. Here's how I done it:
First my directory...
Well, I got it to work:

I'm working on a new desktop and trying wlourf's Impulse script. It starts up ok and draws the initial graph, but then just sits there. It doesn't talk to pulseaudio.
I'm using conky 1.8.0. Is...
I've been playing around to get output from googlecl's calendar function into conky.
Here's the bash script, save it as ~/bin/listcal:
#!/bin/sh
# Fetch gcal entries for specified time period...
Thanks, that works great :)
I did have to go back to my original convert command though, yours kept giving me syntax error near unexpected token `(' - all I needed to change was the filepath at...
lol
I was going to try and improve it some more before posting the scripts. But as I have not really any bash or layout skills I might as well go ahead and see how you guys would improve it ;)

Finally found out way to display album art from Amarok 1.4 :)
That's good to know, I was going to install the Intrepid beta later on.
I still wonder though how sda7 and sda8 changed around, this had nothing to do with OpenSuse as far as I can see.
I thought that might be the case. Does an existing swap partition usually get formatted when installing a distro? Would it be best to use separate swap partitions when dual booting?
A few weeks ago re-partitioned the hard drive of my laptop as follows:
sda1 - / Ubuntu
sda2 - / for test install
sda3 - extended
sda5 - swap
sda6 - /home Ubuntu
sda7 -...
Actually, changing the label of the partition didn't change my original problem. Places still shows the partition size and not the label I assigned it, even after logging off/on.
I was able to change the label on just one partition. I keep getting the following message on the partitions of my 2 other drives:
e2label: Bad magic number in super-block while trying to open...
Before Hardy Nautilus used to display the names of the partitions as specified in fstab in the Places side pane, e.g. 'sda1'. Now it only displays the partition sizes, e.g. '300 GB Media'. I get back...
Thanks to the both of you. My Desktop is back to normal :)
I was playing around with the Wine desktop integration settings and somehow it renamed ~/Desktop folder to ~/Desktop.winecfg (or something similar) and I didn't notice it right away. The next time I...
The easiest way to do that is to open Applications > Accessories, then right-click on Terminal and select 'Add this launcher to desktop'.
Wow, this is really neat. It makes quite a difference. Thanks.
