I assume you mean restoring it by using the menu entry just after you boot (before the operating system loads)?
If this is the case then yes - restoring will result in wiping of Ubuntu and any...
Wouldnt purchase it if they did release it. My needs are fairly limited when it comes to office software - basic word processing, the odd spreadsheet - nothing fancy. MS office doesnt do any of those...
You could do it via firewall or something similar like Peerguardian that just uses iplists.
Cheers
I still want to have physical media for games (PS3 in particular). I find the price very high and feel I should at least get a case with a disc in it if I've had to bend over to purchase it.

For those watching the horse meat scandal in the uk.....
Man goes into the cafe in Tesco and orders himself a burger. The lady serving asks " Do you want anything on that?". The man replies "Yes,...
You could always give him the co-ordinates of my office. It frequently seems to be a place where time seems not to pass. Or if you want to wind up your tutor - give him the co-ordinates of his...

Recently installed some updates and found Grub had changed a little and was noticably slower. So I thought I'd try and optimise it a little. Was in a hurry, skim-read a little bit of internet chatter...
Thanks for the help. I actually failed to do it by that method.Got as far as making the partition and labelling it as boot but then still couldnt get Grub installed. In the course of trying to look...
Well I finally did it. Its been around 5 years of Ubuntu usage and I finally broke my Grub. I feel like I've gone through a rite of passage, a feeling that will no doubt be much more satisfying when...
I think I had to install CPU frequency scaling monitor - the options appear under that (my bad - I forgot I had to install that separately). Look for such an app in synaptic or the software centre.

Its my understanding that the cat /proc/cpuinfo command gives you snap shot of the speed at the time the command is run. So when your CPU is throttled down you will get a lower reading.
Try...
Got one lying around on storage somewhere - thought it might become valuable one day. Comes with audio tape for loading progs - AWESOME!!:guitar:

Well we cant be sure of what (if any) drivers or optimization that you may need without knowing what the hardware specs are. If you have old hardware then it could just be a general struggle to run...
Hello there and welcome to the party!
Most hardware drivers are contained in the Linux kernel as modules, so the downloading of such things is not usually required (some hardware is an exception...
