[SOLVED] Re: mail-notification icon always on tray

Here's what I did to solve this:

leafpad ~/.gconf/apps/mail-notification/%gconf.xmland add the following line after the <gconf> tag:

    <entry name="always-display-icon" mtime="1320676101"...
  2. [lubuntu] Re: blank icon added on notification area after resume since ugrade

This doesn't actually fix the issue...but it makes it easier to reset the panel after a suspend to get rid of the added blank space. You would still have to type the command every time you wanted to...
  3. [lubuntu] Re: touch pad double click problem (only in lubuntu)

I'm not sure which eeepc you have, but on my eeepc 1005ha with a clean install of lubuntu 11.10 (i.e. installed from the lubuntu 11.10 iso, onto a reformatted hd) the double-click works fine.

Thanks! I was trying to figure out how to do this. Works perfectly.
  5. [lubuntu] Re: LUBUNTU 11.10 - working indicators and applets

Mail Notification (http://www.nongnu.org/mailnotify/) works well on my lubuntu 11.10 system.

    Available in the repos:

sudo apt-get install mail-notificationIf you want the icon to display even...

[SOLVED] Re: Disable ALT+Space in LXDE (Lubuntu)

To make the file more readable, you can use xmlindent:

    xmlindent ~/.config/openbox/lubuntu-rc.xml | less

Doesn't change the file...just outputs it nicely formatted.

[SOLVED] Re: Disable ALT+Space in LXDE (Lubuntu)

It's the same way in my lubuntu-rc.xml file...all the keybindings in one long line. Not sure why.

[SOLVED] Re: Disable ALT+Space in LXDE (Lubuntu)

I also have the files lxde-rc.xml and rc.xml in that directory (~/.config/openbox/). If you're running straight LXDE rather than Lubuntu, one of those files might be controlling your keybindings.

[SOLVED] Re: Disable ALT+Space in LXDE (Lubuntu)

The following disables the Alt-Space function on my fresh install of Lubuntu 11.10 (can't say if it would work on LXDE 11.04):

    1. Open ~/.config/openbox/lubuntu-rc.xml

    leafpad...

[lubuntu] Re: Changing over to lubuntu 11.10

I think you could use something like UNetbootin...but probably better to ask over on the Linux Mint forums.

I tried it once with a Debian .iso and it wouldn't boot...but it might work for you.
  14. [lubuntu] Re: blank icon added on notification area after resume since ugrade

    Done.

Hopefully, the devs will consider this bug to be a priority. It's the kind of thing that might discourage people from using Lubuntu on their laptops.

I know I was reluctant to install...
  15. [lubuntu] Re: blank icon added on notification area after resume since ugrade

Yes...as far as I can tell (based on my only Lubuntu laptop)...if the battery icon is present, the extra space will be there after a suspend/resume. If the icon is not there, no additional space is...
  16. [lubuntu] Re: blank icon added on notification area after resume since ugrade

On battery power it still works as it should. No extra space in the tray after 3 suspends and resumes.
  17. [lubuntu] Re: wasted space in lubuntu indicator applet ("benachrichtigungsfeld")

If it's the same problem described over in that other thread (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1869357) then it seems to be related to the xfce power manager battery icon. When I turned off...
  18. [lubuntu] Re: blank icon added on notification area after resume since ugrade

I believe this is related to the battery icon which is controlled by the xfce4 power manager. When I set the power manager to never show the icon...I do not get the extra space added after every...
