    yes, he could use gparted to shrink his swap space then resize the adjacent partiion to fill the gap. I personally use 8Gb root, 1Gb SWAP, rest for home. If gparted will do any damage to your data...

    I use bluefish regularly in Debian. I have tried Quanta and it's Ok. Kompozer I have never tried, I'm a Gnome kinda guy. All that starting everything with a K stuff gets on my nerves ;-)
