I recently did a clean install of Ubuntu Mate 20.04.
I have an Asrock Z68 Pro3 mobo, and wired Ethernet was fine initially .. until some kernel updates were installed (and I'm starting to get in...
I can't even get that far.. I get
./DungeonDefenders-x86: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
According to the SW...
I removed the old drive.. only the SSD plugged in.
>sudo fdisk -lu /dev/sda
Disk /dev/sda: 90.0 GB, 90028302336 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 10945 cylinders, total 175836528 sectors...
Well I expected something like that... except when I go to Disk Utility for the SSD, it only shows 1 partition.. and that partition is already the 86GB size.. even tho "df -h" is claiming its a 48G...
Started with a 60GB laptop HDD as my boot drive.. I used ddrescue to close to a 90GB SSD (already partitioned to 1 80-something GB partition).
After the clone, df -h on the new drive it reporting...
This happens to me too.. usually only after several weeks of uptime. I have yet to find a way to get the icons back.
some of them do appear to be there, just invisible.. I can hover over the bar...
I got it working.. not sure what I did differently...
Wasn't a smooth experience on the client-side... but that may also be the fault of my media player.
For now I may be sticking with Logitech...
Did you ever get this working?
I am also just trying rygel and can't get it seen by any of my UPNP clients.
Just to clarify.. do any of the media servers function as both DLNA/UPnP and as DAAP servers at the same time?
Just seeing if there was one which would serve all the "clients" we have running...
Was finally able to test as well.. agreed Twonky does not seem to transcode.. I had an mkv on my machine, but it did not show up in the list on my DLNA box. Its does show up in the web-based list...
I got it to compile.. I had a makefile already from the configure on an earlier Ubuntu.. so I skipped configure.. and ran make... make was pointing to the wrong libcrypt, so I ran make until it...
I may have gotten it to compile... using the clue I found in: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=11400708
I installed all the dependencies (see the Natty package dependency list on...
Yep, I know mutt and have tried to convert.. and just can't :)
I played with it for 20 minutes.. I was impressed at being able to stream video wirelessly to the box.. I did NOT yet try a full 20G BR rip (with mkv).. will give that a try this weekend.
I've got...
Anyone gotten this to compile in 11.10?
I had several versions of source squirreled away.. some fail in Configure, others in make.
I think I can export the playlists (to m3u)... but only _some_ of the DAAP servers handle ratings.. and I'm not sure why I'm seeing so many disconnects when using forked-daapd (almost every 1.5...
I've been thru both of those (and more) years ago.. mt-daapd was by far the most capable. None of the others will "see" pre-existing ratings (from iTunes), nor the already created playlists.
short version is I need a linux equivalent iTunes server.. subsonic definitely looks nice, but doesn't have DAAP server features yet (its apparently on the TODO list, but has been since 2007 :( ).
...
looking at the subsonic page.. does it
a) serve as a DAAP server?
b) how about DLNA?
thanks,
Mike
Have also been using mt-daapd for years and am very sad to see it not supported in 11.10.
I've been playing with forked-daapd, but
a) it doesn't seem to read my iTunes playlists (mt-daapd did)...
It appears the version (0.19) from the 11.10 repositories is NOT compiled with --enable-itunes? (it sees my files, but not the playlists I had from iTunes)
(is there a way to tell which flags were...
Failing all attempts to install on this mobo (with i3-2100 and 8G ram). I have updated to the latest BIOS (1.60)
Can start from DVD and USB.. get to the 1st pick menu.. choose to boot Ubuntu...
Will file that away for possible future use. I long ago gave up trying to use linux/ubuntu for HTPC .. using now only as a server.
Sorry, I never had any great luck with this and gave up.
I'm trying this with 10.04 and get this error
