    Yeah. I have a Gateway laptop, and the "modprobe i8k force=1" (or even just "modprobe") did not work.

    Solved it :)

    You have to select PulseAudio in the Virutalbox settings if you using ubuntu 8.04.

    (just posting in case someone has the same problem)

    If you would prefer to ALT-click on the window, then that totaly removes the need.
