  1. [all variants] Re: Wireless network - 1 SSID, 2 access points - Can I specify which I connect to?

Any ideas how to make this persistent?

I started having it drop out again, went and had a look at BSSID and it had reverted back to blank :/
  2. [all variants] Re: Wireless network - 1 SSID, 2 access points - Can I specify which I connect to?

Well, I managed to discover arping to get the mac of my router, and I've set that as my BSSID, so we'll see what happens.

    Thanks for the fast reply!
  3. [all variants] Wireless network - 1 SSID, 2 access points - Can I specify which I connect to?

I have one wireless network at home, with a router and a wireless network extender, running in network extender mode.

Devices at home see it transparently, as one network, and in theory should...
  4. Re: BCM4313 - 2 drivers installed, how to choose which is used?

So far so good, thanks for the help. I'll have to remember as I go along that modules overrides the blacklist. Seems a bit odd, but I'm sure there's a good reason for it that I just don't understand...
  5. Re: BCM4313 - 2 drivers installed, how to choose which is used?

    blacklist.conf:

    # This file lists those modules which we don't want to be loaded by
    # alias expansion, usually so some other driver will be loaded for the
    # device instead.

    # evbug is a debug...

despite now having blacklisted both brcmsmac and bcma in blacklist.conf, I just rebooted and still it's loaded bcma-pci-bridge instead of wl.

  8. Re: BCM4313 - 2 drivers installed, how to choose which is used?

    I can't rmmod bcma:

    adam@adam-Lenovo-G580 ~ $ sudo rmmod bcma
ERROR: Module bcma is in use by brcmsmac
  9. Re: BCM4313 - 2 drivers installed, how to choose which is used?

    No difference.

It re-installed the driver by the looks ok it, but it's still using bcma-pci-bridge, despite showing bcma and wl as the kernel modules when I lspci -vv

    :(

  11. Re: BCM4313 - 2 drivers installed, how to choose which is used?

If I install the bcmwl-kernel-source drivers from additional drivers, nothing seems to happen. I've checked rc.local, there's nothing in there.

I've tried manually installing the broadcom drivers...
  12. BCM4313 - 2 drivers installed, how to choose which is used?

I've got a BCM4313 in this Lenovo G580, and through various things I've got two drivers installed. wl and bcma.

The problem is bcma is terrible, the connection is slow and frequently drops. Using...

    Re: Neverwinter Nights Quick Question

I don't know about all the other versions, but I still have the very original NWN and seperate copies of the expansions, and those worked just fine.

Remember all you need to actually get NWN up...
  14. Re: UT2004 - Xlib: extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":1.0".

I thought I'd better just check in and say that yes, just starting a normal Gnome session fixed it no problem.

Not being a Linux fiend (yet!), can I assume it was because by default the...
  15. UT2004 - Xlib: extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":1.0".

I have a recently new install of Edgy, and am running XGL/Beryl. I've installed UT2004 from my original DVD, and patched it up to version 3355, but the game will not run for me.

    I get the splash...
