    yah i got it working just by installing fglrx or wtvr thats called and changing xorg.conf to say 'enabled' wherever it says compositng extension or something similar BUT problem is...its awfully slow...

    no you see pluging in speakers or headphones normally/expectedly turns off the computer's own speakers (called 'front' in the sound settings) however, this isn't happening. so plugging in headphones...

    ok. everytime i restart the 'front' is turned on, so even though i have earphoes plugged in, the computer's speakers go off at full sound...this has caused some embarrasing moments including waking...

    upgraded to 8.04. lots of cool improvements. sound works out of the box!
