https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2395684
My git crontab was set to this :

So I fixed this by retreating:
Using the 'Additional Drivers' I set the video driver to nouveau.
And then :
sudo apt remove linux-modules-5.4.0-26-lowlatency
sudo apt...
Yes so I attempted to switch to the nouveau driver. This process stopped without completing and without error. So I rebooted and the GUI does not come up.
I ran an apt update which stopped with...
Thank you.
I was having screen tearing and the low latency kernel was part of a remedy I was following. Though this tearing has started after an update to the nvidia driver. So it looks like I...
Ah. Thank you very much, TheFu. That explains it.
This may mean that I can revert to the generic kernel?

kernel 5.4.0-26-lowlatency

I was thinking you remove the SSD and reformat it. You were talking about discarding it -- I thought you meant. I'm saying you don't have to discard it. You can clean it, put it back in your computer...
Could you slip the SSD into a USB dock and format it from another machine.
Me too.
On my other 20.04 machines I have disabled and masked

I doubt there is a fix for broken machines unless there is a...

Yes indeed. Thanks That's a nice little viewer. Do you know someway of setting the window size to the image size from the command line? I don't see anything like that in the man page.
I'm looking for an image browser that will open all the image files in a directory, each in its own simple window i.e. without sidebars or additional panes.
I need to zoom in and out on each of...
So if I'm reading correctly I can replace resolved with my own bind9 server for caching and dnssec. Okay I've done that.
Am I missing something there?
I don't have a problem with systemd. I generally like it.
In fact I don't have a problem at all. I have a question:
What am I missing by not using systemd-resolved? That doesn't trouble me;it...
After discovering that systemd-resolved was inserting my ISP's DNS servers into my DNS search list, I did this :
- disabled systemd-resolved
- deleted the /etc/resolv.conf link
- recreated...

I am having random lockups. Looking back through the journal I want to see the journal at the time of the lockup.

I have purged Network Manager, removed all Network Manager directories yet I am still seeing applications and services that are assuming NM and expressing distress that it is not.

In this article about DNS caching. the author gives advice on how to avoid frequent cache queries.

Ah I see. Thank you both. A project that is a bit more interesting than I thought.
As far as I can tell these all monitor traffic on the machine that is running the application. I want to monitor traffic that is running through the *LAN* i.e. monitor traffic to all the devices...
I am having some dips in bandwith that cannot be explained by any activity I know about.
I have looked at Nagios but it is more than I need. I don't need an elaborate UI and I don't want to have...
I would rather not have to do that. I never want to restore tabs from previous session. It is unnecessary busyness to have to explicitly close them. Has it always been this way or is the tab a new...
Just started using Thunderbird and want to stop the application from opening all the tabs I had opened when I last quit.
Web searches take me to info on how to do this for Firefox but I don't see...
