i solved this issue by installing the driver provided by realtek as suggested by: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1022411&highlight=RTL8111%2F8168B
i just unpacked and ran sudo autorun.sh...
I'm experiencing this very same problem, so i'll post my lsmod
quattro@Defiant:~$ lsmod | grep r816
r8169 39554 0
mii 5237 1 r8169
that's what i call a workaround, not a fix, this is exactly what the Ubuntu Papercut initiative is all about, minor things annoying the starting linux user.
But this is such an in your face bug, i...
be sure to have a look at passenger (mod_rails)
http://www.modrails.com/
you can start using it from the point where you're done installing redmine,
and after that you won't need the proxy...
you can also try Grub2.
I believe it has better graphics capabilities.
I can't guarantee this howto is working for hardy heron, let alone intrepid ibex.
I'm using jaunty jackalope now, and better things are coming up like plymouth.

Thanks for this howto, it worked perfectly on our redundant servers
http://publicsvn.songbirdnest.com/wiki/SettingUpGStreamer
read this to set up gstreamer, mp3 support in gstreamer is easy =)
sudo apt-get install gstreamer0.10-fluendo-mp3
this guide was written for feisty fawn, therefor the package may be outdated.
I believe the reason it isn't included in hardy heron is because it disables password protection, but feel free to use...
i did read your post, my keypoints are:
- i don't believe there is a version of linuxDC++based on 0.261
- i heard dozens upon dozens people complain about hashing when i told them to update their...
you're not the first one to ask about a non-hashing client,
but most of the hubs will kick you for it, so nobody is interested in maintaining such a client.
and hashing is only a problem for a...
i'm working on running the original unreal as mod in unreal tournament '99, thus making it possible to run it natively on linux =)
uncomment the # gfxmenu /boot/grub/message.new
the error was that your stage1 wasn't located at /boot/grub/stage1 , but probably at /grub/stage1 on the partition mounted as /boot, there's a difference there
follow the how to on page 1, what you have here is a standard grub with splashimage, not gfxboot-grub
in gfxboot the text is gone
ah i see =)
i missed that you said only user list context was implemented :(
they work.
but the context isn't used and i believe the submenu's aren't used either
i was talking about the context of the user commands provided by the hub...
the so called right-clickers
nicely done =)
I really missed the user commands as an op
but are there any plans on implementing the context with the usercommands?
$UserCommand <type> <context> <details>|
<context> is sent...
what did you do to make C&C3 work?
i get problems with shaders on my setup...
I added all the direct3d and directsound they recommend at the wine appdb...
maybe it's ATi messing up the...
you indeed have to enter the directory before you execute the cpio
the cpio command makes and reads a sort of archive of the files, a single file...
let's just say it's somewhat similar to tar......
does the cvs contain the current 1.0 version?
i see no updates since i last checked a week ago....
they are the "non-free software elimination squad" coming to clean the neighbourhood
on a slightly more serious note: you know linuxDC++ doesn't compile on Red Hat Linux 3.2.2-5? bwahahaha...
good reasoning ^_^
in another month gutsy is going to be unleashed to the unsuspecting world =)
