could you please enlighten my 1-bit brain by explaining how you disable ipv6 system wide?
now i disable it only in firefox (about:config), but i also use another web browser.

alas, i don't know what the proper command is since i (de)activate bluetooth manager through services (system / preferences / startup applications)
short and simple:
1. switch on bluetooth on your phone and set it to be 'discoverable'
2. add the computer as a trusted device
3. go to 'bluetooth manager' on your computer and choose 'add device'...

nice job you've done installing ubuntu on a laptop, especially when you're new to it!
it depends on the purpose of your ubuntu installation what software to install, or don't....
if nothing else works, and you don't have any personal file stored on it, you should consider to wipe the hard drive and starting from there.
