    [ubuntu] Re: phpMyAdmin Ignores 'LoginCookieValidity'

It's because of the debian way of doing things.

If /etc/php5/apache2/php.ini exists, edit the value session.gc_maxlifetime. Otherwise, the highest value in /etc/php5/*/php.ini will be used.

  3. [all variants] Re: nvidia module not getting loaded in 10.10 maverick

    Bump.

Is there another place I should ask for help?

I'd really like to fix this, as Nouveau frequently freezes, and nv doesn't support multiple monitors.
  4. [all variants] nvidia module not getting loaded in 10.10 maverick

I'm trying to use the binary nvidia driver to get 3D goodness.

Nouveau works fine, picks up both monitors, etc. If I remove the nouveau drivers, it falls back to the nv driver. I can't get it to...
  5. [SOLVED] Re: Fresh installing Ubuntu 10.10 hangs with black screen

    Just got the install working!

I remove "splash" and added "noapic nolapic acpi=off" to the boot prompt and I was golden.
  6. [SOLVED] Re: Fresh installing Ubuntu 10.10 hangs with black screen

I'm having the exact same issue with the Ubuntu 10.10 AMD 64 alternate CD:

    Biostar TA890FXE motherboard
    AMD Athlon II X640
    8 GB DDR3

Re: HOWTO: Install and use the latest FFmpeg and x264

I recently had problems converting flv files after following these instructions. If you have any troubles when using the --enable-shared options, try running `sudo ldconfig` which will make sure the...

    [ubuntu] Re: tinychat.com

I also replaced flash with the beta and it worked. Note that the beta is at rc7 now; that link to rc4 is old.

And the file to replace with the file from the download is located at...

    Already did :P

I guess I should have linked it here, too.

  10. [all variants] Re: 'file' command broken in 9.10 (works in 9.04)

    Manually installing

    libmagic1_4.26-2ubuntu3_amd64.deb
    file_4.26-2ubuntu3_amd64.deb

    from Jaunty solves the problem.
  11. [all variants] Re: 'file' command broken in 9.10 (works in 9.04)

Copying the files in /usr/share/file/ over has no effect. I'm going to try installing the old version of file.
  12. [all variants] Re: 'file' command broken in 9.10 (works in 9.04)

    Ubuntu9.10$ file --version
    file-5.03
    magic file from /etc/magic:/usr/share/misc/magic

    Ubuntu9.04$ file --version
    file-4.26
    magic file from /etc/magic:/usr/share/file/magic

    /etc/magic has...
  13. [all variants] 'file' command broken in 9.10 (works in 9.04)

I'm having a rather strange issue.

I am using the Fileinfo extension to PHP to detect the contents of uploaded files. It works great and returns results like "video/mpeg" in Ubuntu 9.04.

I have a QuickCam Connect. The driver for it will be included in the 2.6.29 kernel. What's the best way to compile a new kernel from source in Ubuntu? Is it best to run vanilla? Or are there patches...
