I would like to have Ubuntu automatically route sound to/from my USB headset when plugged in (preferably through ALSA), and through my onboard (snd-cs46xx) when the USB headset is unplugged.

    Is...
  4. Re: alarm clock that will play music to wake me up ?

Also, for the record, I've always found the alarm at onlineclock.net to work quite well. It's web/flash based. And it doesn't exactly play music. But it does its job.

    I find the alarm-clock package wonderful =D

It's very customizable, and the templates -- awesome.

Would be pretty sweet if it pulled the birthdays from your contacts in evolution.

    Re: Google Voice

I got my account a good 2-3 years ago, when it was known as Grand Central. I'm pretty sure I got invited by a friend, however, my memory isn't the greatest anymore.

Also, I find it pretty awesome...

[all variants] Re: Bluetooth A2DP / Ubuntu 9.04

I have no idea. It's very frustrating.

    Something else I have noticed.

PulseAudio 0.9.15 seems to be very unstable. Just in general. Sometimes, using audacious, it will just crash and I will...

[all variants] Re: Bluetooth A2DP / Ubuntu 9.04

I had A2DP working for a short period of time.

I accidentally connected in headset (SCO) mode, and it crashed PulseAudio.

Now every time I turn my headphones on, it connects in both A2DP mode...

[all variants] Re: Bluetooth A2DP / Ubuntu 9.04

    I've finally got it working.

I installed package "pulseaudio-plugin-bluetooth" as well as "python-bluez". I believe the former is more important.

Now just to figure out how to get pause/play,...

Ok, mikebo, I followed your instructions (I am back on regular ubuntu)

My headphones will not show up as an audio device for pulseaudio or alsa.

    Not sure why.

[all variants] Re: Bluetooth A2DP / Ubuntu 9.04

See, the problem is not getting it bonded. I have it bonded with my PC.

Also, I do not use PulseAudio (I am using xubuntu), so therefore I am using ALSA.

I still can not manage to send audio to...
