Is there a document anywhere describing all the function keys and connections on the Starling? I'm not a netbook/laptop user, so many of these are unfamiliar to me.

    I understand the FN-F1...

    Re: Starling Netbook

I can recommend the product with few reservations.

    1. The keyboard is just large enough for comfortable typing.

    2. If you stick with the pre-installed netbook remix, everything just works, but...
  4. [SOLVED] Re: Atten: Starling owners | karmic koala upgrade information

Thanks for the workaround. ndiswrapper did the trick for me. Replying via wireless. Too bad thad Ubuntu didn't do a little more testing before releasing KK.

I, too, congratulate the OP for taking off the traning wheels, and I agree that this is in no way a putdown of Automatix. Those who interpreted the message in this way are out in left field.

    refresh button ?

Is there any way to refresh the page you are viewing? A refresh button would be really helpful.

  9. Poll: Re: Epiphany or Firefox default browser for Feisty?

It seems abundantly clear to me that the "great unwashed masses" that Ubuntu might reach have only ever heard of two browsers - IE and Firefox. So, if you want to reach these masses, Firefox is the...
  10. Re: Howto Install 32 bit Firefox with Flash w/sound and Java for AMD64

I did try this, and it seems to work - I get Iceweasel with the expected plugins - but the mplayer plugin doesn't seem to work. If I select a movie trailer, mplayer buffers to 99% and then hangs.

Re: Any smart linux users out there

I got a real chuckle out of that reply! All problems are obscure unless you have the problem, and then it's a PROBLEM!!!

And, the user has a sound problem which has got to be the most obscure...

Poll: Re: Does Stallman and the FSF damage Opensource?

Can't answer the poll question in the format it's presented.

Re: In the spirit of a Flamewar.

You guys have way too much time on your hands ...

  16. Re: How-To: 2.6.14 Vanilla Kernel (latest) + ck Patchset (Enhanced Performance kernel

The products appear to be excellent, if a little pricey. The only thing missing from my standpoint is Kubuntu since I'm not a Gnome fan.

My $.02 - yes. Anything that makes wireless easier to use/understand without waving chicken feet at it is definitely worth it.
  25. Poll: Re: Epiphany or firefox default browser for dapper?

A side thought. Shuttleworth has now stated that Kubuntu will be supported as a co-equal. Does it make sense to have a default browser that is Gnome dependant? IMO, it is better to have Firefox as a...
