Thanks Greg, but you mention a G4 and Powerpc, this MacMini is Intel and less than 2 years old. Does you advice still apply.

[ubuntu] Re: Broken QGIS ppa in 12.04

[ubuntu] Re: Broken QGIS ppa in 12.04

To reply to myself, re-enabling the nightly build ppa gives me access to QGIS 1.9 again, I wonder if there is in fact no precise version of 1.7 actually in the ppa for that build?

[ubuntu] Broken QGIS ppa in 12.04

I had a ppa set up for QGIS in 11.10, but after upgrading to 12.04 (yesterday), trying to run QGIS gave an Ubuntu internal error message.

I edited the ppa repository address so it referred to...

That is still really useful, even with Calibri available to buy, and a better option.

Sorry cariboo, I've now reread your original message and I now get the point you were making.

  19. [xubuntu] Re: Distributing system directories between Hard Drives

I see, I obviously hadn't picked up on this. Its now back on the 32Gb SSD, and noticeably slower.

    Thanks,

    Graham
  20. [xubuntu] Re: Distributing system directories between Hard Drives

Was this for me, cos I only have 4gb available for the install and its a clean install (done with your help in fact) so while there may be some programs left lying around after the install, I doubt...
  21. [xubuntu] Re: Distributing system directories between Hard Drives

Yes, I did install the upgrade, but I am pretty sure the original wasn't as big as 16Gb at the time or I doubt I would have upgraded. It was bought as a Windows machine, and they had different spec....

  23. [xubuntu] Re: Distributing system directories between Hard Drives

I fear you may be right, but I'm not sure if its worth spending the money on my 901, I may well just put everything back onto the 32gb SSD and accept that things run a bit slowly.

  24. [xubuntu] Re: Distributing system directories between Hard Drives

That's what the web site says (2.35gb, I think is what it said), and certainly on the Mac its a 1gb download, which I assume is compressed.

  25. [xubuntu] Re: Distributing system directories between Hard Drives
