Or you can take out the power cable from the monitor and boot your pc to still if the noise still occurs.

If you have compiz installed to rotate the cube you press ctrl+alt and then left click and move your mouse around and the cube wil rotate. You can add your own wallpapers if you go to configcompiz...
you can download the deb package from google and then install it throug the terminal.
sudo dpkg -i /path/to/deb/file.deb
or you can use this in the terminal:
sudo apt-get install...

I run dual-boot, but I do everything on Linux except for gaming, which I still use windows for. Looking foward to BF3, don't think that'll run through wine.

yeah thanks :) I figured out the problem. It was a format problem, nothing to do with not being able to see trash like you said
I don't have a physical switch on the usb stick. and I tried viewing hidden folders and nothing shows up. So I'm sure it has something to with the hidden trash folder that's made under linux and...
