[ubuntu] Re: Ubunutu and the asus zenbook (UX31)

After installing today's updates (which included compiz updates) I no longer experience compiz freezes when I use 3-finger touches.

[ubuntu] Re: Ubunutu and the asus zenbook (UX31)

Does the GUI keep freezing for anyone else? I can move the mouse, but it seems like the screen stops updating (when I get everything back, stuff I've typed shows up). The only workaround I've figured...

[ubuntu] Re: Ubunutu and the asus zenbook (UX31)

The latest Ubuntu 12.04 development kernel has rc6 fixed thanks to Eugeni's patch. People have also used that patch on 3.3 kernels, but from what I can tell the ath9k driver in 3.3 is more unstable.

[ubuntu] Re: Ubunutu and the asus zenbook (UX31)

I had a sudden shutdown earlier while running the newly patched eugeni kernel with rc6=3. It occurred right after I removed the USB ethernet adapter from the USB3 port. My BIOS version is 210, and I...

[ubuntu] Re: Ubunutu and the asus zenbook (UX31)

Remove the RC6 option. Battery life will worsen, but RC6 isn't stable yet.

[ubuntu] Re: Ubunutu and the asus zenbook (UX31)

Not a very interesting data point, but I had a random shutdown with the stock ubuntu 3.2.0-15 kernel with rc6 enabled while on battery power (right as I loaded a webpage).

[ubuntu] Re: Ubunutu and the asus zenbook (UX31)

I'm running 12.04 fully up to date with the 3.2.1 mainline kernel from the mainline PPA. My UX31 fails to suspend, the screen goes black but stays lit, and the CPU gets pinned at 100% (I can hear the...
  10. [ubuntu] Re: How do i install the plugins "Throw" and "stackswitch"?

After I did a lot of investigating, I figured out the latest git version is designed for the heavily redesigned compiz 0.9 (ubuntu 10.04 uses 0.8.6). Here is a link to the latest working commit:...

    Re: SolidWorks + Linux

I'm also interested since I'll be using solidworks in the next year. The version of WINE used to test it on AppDB is pretty old though, it might work better on newer versions.
  13. [ubuntu] Re: Installing Ubuntu into laptop Dell 1525 and make 'Media Direct' button work

  22. Poll: Re: Windows based installer - testers and developers wanted

  24. Poll: Re: Windows based installer - testers and developers wanted
