Again, I'm running gentoo, but after the last update the keyboard is lighting up again. No control with the FN-Z, just the timer after a key-press. I videoed it this time for evidence.

What I was thinking was that maybe acpi could be enabled, but the kernel leave the back light under bios control. But that probably isn't possible. Acpi was working properly when the black light was...

It was working when I posted that. One would think that disabling the acpi for it would make it work, but the acpi is a black hole in my knowledge.

I wish I knew enough on the subject to have tested what was happening when it was working. After I did a complete shutdown and restart I figured it was here to stay.

Anyone want to go in on bribing the guy to fix this???
