Hi,
I am running Ubuntu 12.04 LTS on an old Dell machine. When I first boot the computer in the morning, it stays on the Ubuntu loading screen indefinitely. However, it boots quickly after I turn it...
I set up ufw a couple days ago, only allowing ports 25, 53, 80, 110, 443, 51413, and 6969 for TCP and 53, 67, 68, and 51413 for UDP, according to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/BasicSecurity/Firewall. I...
Sorry, I should have specified. It was an embedded video in Google Play, and being somewhat dumb, I don't know how to find the URL of the video. Haha... *facepalm*
And... I just restarted Chrome...
Sorry, my last post was extremely unclear and sales pitch-y. :P Woops.
What you could do is go into win7, control panel and search for disk management. Then you right-click the partition you want...
It's Google Chrome, manually downloaded. And the main one that was bothering me was a link a friend sent me- the audio played on the trailer, but the actual video didn't load at all...
I had the same issue with Windows 8 (not recognizing Windows as being installed as another OS), and I ended up manually partitioning the disk, creating a swap space and installing on the new (not...

I know I keep posting, but I'm a n00b and have a lot of questions. :P I was wondering, is there a way to use a standard account and sudo through Terminal as the other user (the administrator...
Not urgent- but was wondering why YouTube videos don't play in Chrome when Adobe Shockwave Flash plugin is enabled. It works when it's disabled so I don't have a real problem, but I am curious as to...
Ok, thanks for the suggestion. :) Since I'm navigating my family away from Windows as it has been running extremely slow on both old and new computers, I might have to stick with Ubuntu on both of...
Oh, okay. Here's the output:
family@family-Dimension-3000:~$ lspci | grep VGA
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82865G Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 02)
Argh. Now Startup Disk Creator isn't recognizing my USB drive, even though I can store files on it. I was able to create a bootable USB from it before, but now I'm not able to for some reason.
Ok, I'll burn the .iso back to the usb I used and do that. (as soon as siblings log off the other computer. :P )
This is really unfortunate... but I can't do that since I did a fresh install of 12.10 12.04 over 13.10. Should I run it from live USB, and would that give me the same input as if it was actually...
I seem to have become a dictator in my Procrasti-Nation. Bump.
After successfully installing Ubuntu 13.10 (64-bit) to dual-boot on my Gateway with Windows 8, I attempted to install the 32-bit version on my old Dell computer and it would not load Unity past...
