    Re: Nova T Stick remote!

Are you sure they don't apply? Isn't the RC the commonly used one with a grey top and black bottom, the same as is used on other Nova-T variants?

    Re: Cannot watch tv

If you've only got one tuner card then you can only tune to one channel at a time. If you want to watch one channel while recording another you need to add a second tuner card.
    If you just want to...
  4. Re: Too stupid to configure Terratec Cinergy 1400 DVB-T?

There are some comments at http://linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/DVB-T_PCI_Cards#TerraTec which might be relevant.
  5. Re: can't retrieve channels - xmltv (uk) - help?

Maybe I'm missing something here, but the PVR 150 is an analogue tuner, so you're not going to get the 54 channels mentioned above, just the 4 or 5 analogue ones.

    Re: acpi and mythbakend problem

I rather suspect that there's a mistake in the section near the end of the document headed "Configure MythBackend". Surely the wakeup time format should start 'yyyy-' not 'yyy-' ?
  7. Re: BBC Freeview Channels - Partial Lock

Are you sure it isn't just a matter of signal strength? Where I live the main BBC multiplex is weaker than the others, and is the first to break up when signal conditions are poor.

    Re: Brightness/contrast adjustment

For anyone who is interested, I've solved this one.

First I created a script called set-gamma in my home directory (/home/eric) like this:

    #!/bin/sh
    nvidia-settings --load-config-only...

Re: How to turn off automatic recording?

Automatic recording is necessary to support features like pause and skipback. These temporary recordings are automatically deleted after a period of time, and I think they are automatically deleted...

    Re: Brightness/contrast adjustment

Thanks again for the suggestions, but I didn't find success with them. Kcontrol only adjusts gamma (not brightness and contrast) and xcalib was rather too complicated to set up.

    I've read up the...

    Brightness/contrast adjustment

By default the picture from Mythbuntu using the YPbPr interface is washed out on my system, and I need to adjust the brightness, contrast and gamma. I can do this using nvidia-settings.

    Re: NovaT500PCI problem

There's a known problem with the Nova-T 500 whereby it loses the TV signal from time to time, and the only solution is to reboot. I got bitten by the same bug and changed to a different TV card....

Thanks. I see that there's already a bug report dealing with this, so I've simply subscribed to it and added a comment.

    Re: LIRC only works sometimes

You can adapt the procedure described at http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=183545&highlight=nova which is for the Nova-T 500 RC but I'm sure will apply equally to any RC which uses /dev/input.

Re: mythbuntu & network attached storage devices

I'm not sure if that's the case. My Buffalo Linkstation uses an embedded Linux system, and the disk is formatted as ext2, although it presents itself as a Windows share which I access using CIFS.
