    [ubuntu] Re: Can't install 'ubuntu-desktop'

Also seeing this when trying to upgrade from Karmic to Lucid Lynx. Apparently a similar bug was fixed previously:

[ubuntu] Re: Usb keyboard not working

Thanks, I will try that next time it happens! I actually tried a suspend-resume cycle as well, but that did not help!

    [ubuntu] Usb keyboard not working

My Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 randomly stops working when I re-plug it after using it in my laptop. This is severely annoying, understandably, since only a reboot solves the problem!

    Lirc and mceusb on karmic

Just upgraded my htpc from jaunty to karmic. My first problem is that lirc does not seem to work. Starting XBMC, it doesn't respond to keys. 'irw' gives my absolutely nothing. After configuring lirc...
  6. [ubuntu] Re: Intrepid Ibex USB Installer Fails for External Hard Drive

Same thing sort-of applies to Portablelinux (http://rudd-o.com/new-projects/portablelinux) in that I can only use it on my usb flash drive, not on my 1TiB usb HDD. I dont know that theres any logical...
  7. [ubuntu] Re: Keyboard and mouse stop working after using tablet input

Something very similar happens to me in 8.04 and an aiptek tablet. Although its only the mouse that stops working for me. But ~8 minutes sounds about right, though. Happens fairly quickly. I dont...
  8. Re: HOWTO: Install latest aiptektablet drivers from CVS

Perfect, the patch makes it work! My X started crashing as soon as I managed to configure everything correctly, but this helped.

I just guessed this was the problem, my backtrace seemed to not be...
  9. [ubuntu] Re: [SOLVED] How do I -disable- tablet control of the mouse?

Weird, my xorg config already looks like this, but I still get events from both my "pen" device and my "Configured Mouse".

Edit: ok, it seems its my /dev/input/mice thing which gets events from...

[ubuntu] Re: Blender + Compiz = Teeth-grindingly SLOW!

I have the same problem. I am guessing blender wants to use memory/resources the driver is unable to give it with compiz active. This thing applies to AMD drivers at least, which I read about on...

  12. Re: HOWTO: Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 - enabling special keys

    I solved my problem: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-keyboard/+bug/197589

I just enabled, and then disabled the mouse emulation thingy for numeric keypad.
  13. Re: HOWTO: Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 - enabling special keys

I am using this keyboard on 8.04, and everything is working, EXCEPT the numeric keypad??

I've set my keyboard layout to Microsoft Natural OEM. Evtest shows events for my keypad, and numlock.

    Re: Pre-release testers wanted

My Nvidia problems were solved by the apt-get upgrade I did just now. You might want to try if this solves your problem as well.

    Re: Pre-release testers wanted

This might actually be a Ubuntu bug, and not a wubi bug. For some reason, after I upgrade using apt-get the restricted manager "forgets" that I can enable Nvidia at all. But I manually installed...

    Re: Wubi-7.04-beta-v2 pre-release testers wanted

Ok, cool. Now I aways have to move wubi to my D:\ partiton, and this seems to misdetect the /boot/host softlink (Maybe because I still have a copy of wubi on C:, I know I should not) . Is pointing...
  17. Boot problem with wubi-7.04-beta-minefield13.exe

I get this instead of a error 17 as with earlier minefields (I have defragmented the drive now though):

    Re: Wubi-7.04-beta-v2 pre-release testers wanted

Wow, how does updating the kernel work? I cant imagine it working with regular apt-get? Would you somehow mount /boot to the correct NTFS place? Sounds like true magic ;)

Re: If there is problem with wubi
