Now that Adobe has made good on it's pledge to resuscitate 64 bit flash for Linux, perhaps we could remove the big red MURDER heading at the beginning of this thread. :D
Thanks. That did the trick. I also turned off journaling in OS X, installed hfsutils in Ubuntu, and now I can write to the Mac partition as well.
Now, I need to find out how to write to Ext4...
You should follow a multi-boot guide such as this one. It explains everything. Print it out ahead of time as well as the Ubuntu guides cited; they're specific to your model.
Hello,
I'm a long time Ubuntu user. Recently though, I have strayed from the flock and become--gulp--an Apple fanboy. I'm trying to amend my ways however, and I've managed to create a nice little...
As far as I am aware (and I'm new at this) if you want to include Linux with your booting options, you'll need to install rEFIt in OS X. Bootcamp will only deal with two operating systems, and it has...
Maverick is not booting for me (Macbook Pro 5,3; rEFIt). I get the same message as this bug that affected Macbooks in the Spring when Lucid was in Beta.
After installing Maverick, I went back to...
How do you do this in Lucid? I've added the window setting in ccsm, but the text and icons all disappear as well.
Yep, that works. Thanks!
I've done the dual boot thing just about every way it can be done in the last 5 years, and I still say WUBI rocks. If windows 7 won't boot, you choose Ubuntu in the bootloader. If the bootloader is...
A little more detail would help your helpers here. However, if you're running with Windows 7, I strongly recommend installing Windows 7 first and then installing Ubuntu via WUBI. Get Windows...
This has been resolved.
For anyone subsequently installing Windows 7 (dual boot of course), you need to make sure to install the chipset driver first. Everything else works pretty will work pretty...
I also tried sudo /etc/init.d/bluetooth restart, but that didn't have any effect either.
Yes, I'm sure it has one and I know that it is functional (I'm dual boot with Windows 7 and it works just fine; it also worked fine in Karmic).
Here's my lsusb output before toggling on:...
Thomas, when you code lspci, what does the bluetooth output look like? When I key LSPCI after toggling FN-F12, I don't see anything that is obviously bluetooth related. When I go to...
64-bit both times (and always!).
This is my second fresh install (not an upgrade) of Lucid on my PanP4n.
The only issue for me that I have not been able to overcome is that the Bluetooth toggle (Fn-F12 ) isn't working. I imagine the System76 driver will resolve that once it has been released.
For a...
Never mind. I had to pry up a bit and it popped free.
Okay, having built several computers, I feel totally stupid asking this, but here goes...
I'm trying to upgrade my hard drive in my Pangolin Panp4n, but I can't seem to get the old drive out. I...
Did you have any luck with getting the fax modem recognized in Windows 7? The driver on the System 76 site fails to install.
Have any of you gotten Windows 7 to recognize your fax modem? The driver provided on the System 76 site fails to install.
I think this is our bug.
What's that about flashing the bios? I think I have the latest available from System76. Is there another bios version out there that would allow esata booting?
I've been running Lucid Lynx for the past four days on my Pangolin. It's quicker than Karmic, quieter (less fan noise) and the battery life seems longer (which I guess comes from less fan use).
