    wooohooo! Got the editor to pop up, I entered blacklist pcspkr and saved it. It still beeped when I powered it down, that normal that it would need a reboot?

    ok, I shut the laptop off and rebooted...it prompts for a password when I enter the code with a gksudo but nothing else comes up

    How can I get rid of the annoying beeping sound when I shut the computer off or press the delete button? I tinkered with ubuntu a long time ago, but installed a new copy just recently onto my Dell...
