    I had to boot 11.04 and drop to a terminal and zip up the firmware directory. Which I later unzipped into my 10.04 firmware directory.

    USB Key's work great for these little fixes.

    I had various troubles with an NVidia 6200 pci. They even blacklisted the card with respect to Compiz.

    8.04 and 10.04 are night and day. Xorg 1.4 is just easier on the older hardware...
