Oh, I see. Well I guess I learned how to code very informally then. That might explain why it was so difficult, actually. :P I'll just leave and let you guys teach him.
You have to take the source and import it to an IDE (Integrated Developing Environment) like Eclipse and just edit the code then compile and run it. If you don't know how to do that, Google and your...
I'll just put in my 2 cents. You sound just like I did a year or two ago. Here's what I've done:
Look at programs done by other people, then edit them to make them do what you want.
Start...
I'm having the same problem, I hate that after every reboot I have to retype a strange application-specific password. Does anyone know how to fix this?
I disagree:
1) Metro works well on any device I've tested it on. The live tiles are amazing.
2) An opinion, I quite like the minimalist look
3a) It works quite well with a keyboard and...
There's a good and a bad thing about becoming popular. Good: More apps. Bad: Viruses.
I'm liking it, though I still find myself in Ubuntu more.
I love the lock screen, I want Ubuntu to get something similar and hopefully that will happen when they move into the tablet/phone space....
Haha, my home server is ~14 years old. It has a 32-bit single core processor at 333MHz with 128MB of RAM - it's far from modest specs (Minimum requirements for Windows XP), but it runs Ubuntu Server...
Who, outside of Microsoft, knows? I'm pretty sure they didn't even think about it, that's MS for ya.
After several weeks of searching for why my files would disappear after booting into Windows 8 I found out why. I have a Media partition that I use to store my music, pictures, videos, movies,...
After doing some research it looks like all it does is short the microphone out. Is there a way to translate that to a key?
Is there a way to get the button on my headphones to work? One press: Play/Pause, Two presses: Skip. I know my laptop (ThinkPad Edge E420s) recognizes the button because in Windows it disables the...
I updated to the 3.0.15 or something kernel and the problem is gone. I think it's just the drivers.
My fingerprint scanner is too sensitive now. I used to be able to scan my finger without a problem, but now it takes tens of times to successfully get in. I know it's not the fingerprint reader...
Is it possible to change it so the GNOME-Shell's screencast function renders afterwards?
This is what I get when trying to update, or install anything.
mars11@Arthur-Laptop:~$ sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

So I upgraded to the 3.2 kernel and everything worked fine. There were a few minor graphical glitches, but nothing near what it used to be.
How would I upgrade to the 3.2 Linux Kernel while still using Ubuntu 11.10?
It does that with mine too, completely vanilla Minecraft. I think it has to do with the Intel Graphics Drivers and I hear that the Linux 3.2 Kernel has some better ones so if anyone knows how to...
I hear that the Linux 3.2 Kernel has some better Intel Graphics Drivers. Is there a way I could upgrade to that?
Haha, no problem. I've always had problems installing from a flash drive since Natty. Now mark the thread as solved.
I added that repository and used Update Manager. When I rebooted it worked fine for longer than it ever has (~10 seconds), but then did it again. :\
Nope, that didn't help. How would I go about updating the drivers for the Intel HD 3000?
I'm using the default texture pack. And a messed up texture pack wouldn't start messing up the rest of my system.
