But the problem is it's not...
I want Xorg to start with a brightness setting of 0.5.
I've succeded at configuring lightdm in /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf with the display-setup-script directive.
But I have failed to configure...
Just discovered my SSD was using CFQ scheduler for some odd reason. I expect my problem to go away since changing it to Deadline.
This has happened to me for the last 2-3 versions of Ubuntu. No matter what, I always get an unresponsive system when an app is writing to disk.
I've used smarctl to check my SSD and it shows...
all that already worked for me months ago, but can't get hdmi audio and audio jack to work properly
Try it pls and let us know
Hi, have you tried blacklisting ath9k and atl1c modules?
I had no more freezes after doing it
may be
try sending a support ticket to your board manufacturer
also check for bios updates
check your bios options, maybe there is a limitation turned on?
disable any power saving technology and such
I really don't know what's happening to your cpu
ok, take a look at /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/cpuinfo_max_freq
and the same for cpuinfo_min_freq, those are your cpu supported max/min speed.
ok, i'll try it :)
thanks
can't get hdmi sound to work
pavucontrol works, and I can select hdmi sound output for play, but I can't hear anything
it's not muted btw
paste the output of:
cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_governor
cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_cur_freq
Hi, by using xrandr I can get hdmi video output, but still no sound.
Installed pulseaudio and pavucontrol, selected hdmi audio output, sound works as I can see it in the graphic bar of pavucontrol,...
Don't know how it's working on gnome since I can't find any support on /sys about cpu scaling
I use openbox btw, that's why I need to directly touch /sys
Can you check wich kernel module is...
sensors detect k10temp, but then it says that no sensors detected
ill try updating the bios
The blacklist thing really works, no more freezes when opening gkrellm for example.
pm-suspend works great with xorg ati driver
Is there any cpu frequency trottle support??? I can't find it on...
It's just me or we still don't have full linux support for the AMD c-50 processor?
There is no cpufreq on /sys
Can't control LCD brightness from linux
lm_sensors report nothing, no...
Yes, I'm currently cloning the entire HDD with the help of systemrescuecd
Thanks for the help
Hi guys, I solved it. It was a faulty unit (damn bad luck)
Changed for a new one and it works great. I'm still reticent to install linux, i'll be testing it for a week or so.
That is my worry, a defective unit...
I hope not, but since I can't install windows 7, i'll wait for acer's reply
nope, those netbooks come with a hidden 4gb memory with recovery information, but after installing linux it won't work anymore
It is my fault, I didn't tested on windows at all, just installed linux.
There is an alt+f10 solution to restore win7, but after linux it won't work.
So I'm stuck right now
I'll be asking...
But I bought it yesterday, it came with win7 so I suppose they won't change it back
well I'm using last 11.04 beta
the same happened with debian and archlinux
Should I ask for a windows7 usb image to acer?
LM-sensors are not working but I can read temperature with gkrellm
When temperature reaches 100C, system goes shutdown
It looks like cpu fan is just not working
Any suggestion?
