On the front page of the Exaile website, it mentions a build-in shoutcast directory browser. Presumably this is the one you have to enable in the plugins list? (This isn't what id call "built-in")....

I agree with svdb, this could use some dev attention. It is still not fixed in Gutsy, which makes me wonder what method is everybody else using for this shared drives? The "Connect to server"...
