    I just fixed it on my system. It appeared unity never actually installed.

    If I chose to log into desktop, or UNE 2d (instead of 3d), I would get the old interface of UNE.

    I'm having the same issue here. Assus eeepc 900a. I can get logged in, but then the wallpaper loads, and nothing else will happen.

    Also it is 50 / 50 whether or not the trackpad will work on...

    It is the permissions on /var/lib/samba/secrets.tdb. I had that issue also. I chmoded mine to 777, which may be (and probably is) overkill. I wasn't sure if all users needed read/write/execute on...

    Make sure the partition on the samba server is mounted with acl. Below is a line from my /etc/fstab. Note the acl in it.

    Run

    sudo update-alternatives --config java

    Choose the java version you just installed. For me it was option 3. That switches where it runs java from. Then run

    java -version

    to confirm...
