I'm grappling with xkbcomp and setxkbmap. I have editied an xkb_keycode.xkb file derived from an xkbcomp -xkb output which has all the necessary sections: keycodes, types, symbols, compatibility &...
I want to map Print Screen, Scroll Lock, & Pause keys to Cut, Copy & Paste, that is to Control_x, Control_c & Control_v

Operator error! I was using my original DVI cables not the dual-link ones provided. As soon as I used the correct cables it was plug-and-play. I now have a 5120x1600 pixel desktop.

It seems the monitors have a bug in their EDID data which isn't helping matters:

Yes, I went looking to Wikipedia's entry straight after your earlier reply. Both the itx board and the display are new, so I'm hoping they are good for HDMI 1.3, though the cable I have is older so I...

I'm using Saucy Salamander (Mint 16 petra) and I'm trying to get a small Nvidia GT610 to drive a new 30 inch 2560x1600 pixel display. The Nvidia configuration tool only offers resolutions up to...
I think I have solved the problem. If I force /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu to precede any other library paths then things work OK. I shall have to check for other libfreetype.a or libfreetype.so that may...
I recently upgraded to Saucy and code that used to compile and link is broken. From what I have read on the web there is a version incompatibility between the installed freetype lib and the one...

Sure. I understand. It's midnight where you are. This is a weird problem...

Actually both. Samba-Avahi-10.10 artshow24 certainly does it. I just tried it again just a second ago.
I just checked the three wireless APs that I have, only one of which is capable of being DHCP...
It's the same.
Switched artshow24 to wired but VostroV13 still shows: Failed to retrieve share list from server when browsing artshow24
Yes, it is wireless but it has a strong signal (-59dBm) from a nearby AP of mine. I'll switch it to wired just for fun.
Correction: Samba-Avahi-10.10 artshow24 is back again!
