    Should not have to buy software for bd+ disks, on my own system I have had great success with makemkv which has a nice option to stream the bluray title (UPNP) so either MPlayer or vlc can playback....

    Newer tvs are able to play a limited variety of media files directly from usb, I guess this is not the case with your tv? This gets around the whole transcoding issue...

    Well you may be interested to look at d1x-rebirth and d2x-rebirth which for me have been an amazing nostalgia trip back to my DOS days. Both games have weathered to decades well :).

    You can do this with the MPlayer commandline:


    mplayer -noborder my_file

    where of course 'my_file' will need to be the name of your movie file.
