    I've always been a fan of FreeBSD but the last (and first) time I tried PC-BSD it crashed and killed my computer so I'm going nowhere near it. FreeBSD is rock-solid though.

    I have a similar problem (hp 1020) except it leaves about 2 cm at the bottom of every page. It also removes the same amount at the top of every page.
