Re: file hierarchies, the Windows hierarchy generally uses full words, whereas *nix tends to use three-letter shorthand. Thus it's easier in Windows to guess a folder's purpose from its name.
I hear OpenOffice has better MS format compatibility, if that's important to you.
Ah, that explains it. Thanks for the info.
I look forward to the day Linux gets a unified graphical installer format. To those who might claim there's no problem with the "package everything" repository approach, I point to the fact that...

Not familiar with forum software, but I've heard of Vanilla. Open source.
My major XFCE complaint is that maximized windows still have borders :? I guess this is another aspect of Fitt's Law... I'd occasionally miss the scrollbar when aiming for it, and end up slightly...

Neat, thanks! :)
OTOH, my sound and wireless networking (which I had gotten working previously) seem to have stopped working since my last boot. *thinks* Maybe it was that kernel update a few...

1.0.4 Upgrade successful :) I have a couple questions, though...
1. Is it necessary to remove the old 2.2 firmware files? They don't get overwritten by the 2.3 files because of their different...
Ahh, that fixes my problem :)
Kiranos has it right; the ieee80211*.ko files should go in /lib/modules/$(KVER)/kernel/drivers/net/wireless/ieee80211/
