In compiz there is a widget layer that desklets, screenlets, and other widgets can be assigned to. when you hit F9, the widget layer is brought to the foreground and everything assigned to the widget...

This latest version of Ubuntu works very randomly in this aspect. I have it installed on 3 machines. One machine it mounts hard disks properly and automatically every time, one machine never mounts...

first identify the drive you want to mount with:
sudo fdisk -l

you should get back something like this:

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sda1 ...

I also have had this problem with the latest Ubuntu. I have no idea why its happening but it is easily mounted from terminal. Other than that I dont know what to tell you.

ok, after logging out of the new profile has the same result. It just hangs on startup. this occurs over and over, create a new profile from failsafe term, reboot, then the profile no longer works....
