    It gave a message 'File not found' but that was because name was .8 and not .9, which I changed it to. The command worked and uninstalled successfully.

    sudo updatedb
    locate backports-3.19 | head...

    I saw the typo earlier when you asked me to uninstall and reboot. Tried the commands cd ~/Desktop/backports-3.19-rc1-1 and sudo make uninstall but it did not resolve the problem.
