Right now I'm running on the patched 2.6.32...
@rufferson: I have problems at shutdown with your kernel packages. Does it work fine for you and others?

OK, I'm onto something here. I used
firefox -ProfileManager
to create a new profile, and Firefox starts correctly, but, when closed, it doesn't restart, neither with the old profile nor with...

Turns out the password prompt for unlocking the desktop isn't showing either. I can unlock the screen by typing the password and pressing return, and the mouse pointer turns to an I-beam when...
Hi!
Since I upgraded my work PC to Karmic yesterday, Nautilus is no longer showing the desktop background and icons. Nautilus is running and, for example, the desktop contextual menu is showing...

See http://www.debian-administration.org/articles/118 for reference.
I carried over the jaunty version when I upgraded, and it's working fine, except that the camera is always enabled at startup...
I just renamed my /var/lib/gdm/.gconf directory out of the way... I didn't have any side effects, but keep the old directory around just in case.
Probably it got fixed with an update.
sudo -u gdm dbus-launch gnome-appearance-properties
is working for me.
I actually marked the bug confirmed so that it can be looked upon by a developer.
I'm now heading to bed for the night. Thanks again for your help.
